Silent Night, Misty Night

A single light in the distance on a foggy night.

You are walking alone, through a forest at night,

The fog so dense you can barely see ten meters in front of you.

The cold bites at your ears, the incline is steep,

You are walking towards an unknown source of light.

+ You hear a single bell, a goat or a sheep.

- Civilisation must be near, it’s December and farmers are keeping their livestock close.

You smell burning wood.

+ The fog is getting denser.

- You try to wipe your glasses clean.

+ It doesn’t help.

A fence appears out of the mist, you don’t know if it’s electrified or not.

If you grab it, you might not be able to let it go.

How big is the pasture? Are you inside or outside of it?

+ You hear someone calling your name. It sounds like your brother.

- A single string of Christmas lights appears from behind a hedge, a warm window behind it.

You are home.

A string of Christmas lights leading to a lit window.
